Fumage Painting
Steven Spazuk creates "paintings" with soot from the flame of a candle or torch, which is then scrapped away to sculpt or draw delicate images out of the spontaneous shapes. Wow! First the delicate soot shapes and then the intricately detailed scrappings. Kinda similar to one of my favourite techniques, charcoal and eraser..
Similarly to Danny Sherwin who "paints with gunpowder" before lighting it. Usually wildlife gunpowder paintings on canvas and wood, which leaves a burn mark:
