Lui Bolin- camouflage

Similar to Cecilia Paredes or Emma Hack, Lui Bolin in his "Hiding In The City" series paints himself into the landscape and disappears. Aptly named "The Invisible Man", he stands for hours as he is painted stating
“My intention was not to disappear in the environment but instead to let the environment take possession of me.”

2D or 3D

"ALEXA MEADE PAINTS DIRECTLY ON THE SURFACES OF LIVE MODELS AND FOUND OBJECTS IN THREE-DIMENSIONAL SPACE, COLLAPSING REAL WORLD DEPTH INTO SEEMINGLY TWO-DIMENSIONAL PAINTINGS"

Wow! Alexa Meade's work is a fantastic illusion, either photographed or as an installation the 2D-like painting she does over a 3D live surface creates such a great illusion, really making 3D look flat. Other artwork she uses warped mirrors to photograph the subject to create an abstract image or photographs in water or milk for different effects. Her milk what will you make of me? collaboration is a great example of the illusion of dimension, bluring the edges of 3D and 2D. Wow, wow, wow!!

Blue Print

Living Street art

"Milk: What will you make of me?" is a series where the model is submerged in a tub of milk. The milk becomes a canvas for the body paint, creating a unique and dynamic visual effect. The series explored the nature of the female form and the creative process of painting on a living, moving canvas.

"MILK: What will you make of me?"

Using the same idea, turning 3D faces into 2D images, photographer Alexander Khokhlov and make-up artist Valeriya Kutsan together have created these images based on paintings. Check out his other inspiring artworks on his website!

Body Painting- Emma Hack

Awesome Body Painting!!!! Great illusion. Love it!
By Adelaide-based, multimedia artist, skin illustrator, photographer and sculptor, Emma Hack. She was the one responsible for the awesome body painting in Goyte's music video Somebody That I Used To Know. She has some other great commercial (commissions, advertising, and editorial) work using her signature camouflage as well as other clever body painting.
Heaps more impressive images on her website.
